Of Course these were some very strong words imprinted in our brains by the One the Only: Carrie Bradshaw!

Riding Boots for Fall 2012

"TODAY WHAT WE COMMONLY REFER TO AS A RIDING BOOT IN THE FASHIONABLE SENSE IS CONSIDERED A "DRESS BOOT" IN THE EQUESTRIAN WOLD."
- RALPH LAUREN

Well ladies it's that time of year again where we head out boot shopping or pull out our worn in beloved boots from years past.

I always get excited about fall- because the fashion is so much nicer, cozier and put together more so then the other seasons and way more fashionable.  First things first as we transition over from the seasons, we usually start with our footwear, no more flip flops and gladiators it's time to "Rein" in the riding boots!

Tory Birch Selma Boot

When it comes to boots the more colours you own the better that way you have your 3 staple go to outfits: Almond/Brown boots, Classic Black, and  Asphalt/Grey.

Tory Burch Equestrian Riding Boot $498

Gucci Classic Horsebit and Brogue tall flat boot.
-Hand stained grey leather and antique gold hardware.
$1500.00

Grey is a very popular colour for boots this fall, and many more falls to come so don't worry about splurging on a pair of Asphalt/Grey boots they are here to stay.

Frye: Paige tall riding boot
$348.00
Tory Burch- Calista flat riding boot
$495.00
Comes in two different colours: Asphalt or Almond

-Hermes and Gucci have belts and bracelets and of course scarves that would be a fashionable addition to round out your fall outfits and add that extra touch of class.

Now that you have your boots make sure to put together one amazing look:
Dressing like an equestrian for the everyday women is more for fashion then function...obviously don't go over board with your add ons to the point where you have people wondering where Seabiscuit is.

Enjoy Shopping!

Turquoise Jewelry

                                                                            Turquoise Jewelry

Turquoise Jewelry is a must this summer and every summer to come.
I just love this colour it reminds me of swimming in the warm ocean or looking at the amazing blue sky while away on vacation. When I look at this colour it just makes me feel good :)

Turquoise occurs in the Mojave Desert of California, the Cerrillos Hills near Sante Fe in New Mexico and the states of Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Native Americans mined many of these deposits centuries ago. Sky blue Turquoise occurs in Iran and a green variety occurs in Tibet.

Turquoise is one of December’s gemstones…Lucky me since I was born in December wearing this colored stone has meaning behind it for me and more meaning when it’s a gift from someone else.

If you are going to wear both a necklace and earrings make sure they match...and don't clash.
Just because they may be the same colour, one piece of jewelry may clash and over power the other piece.
Cameron Diaz
has the right idea of matching the two pieces perfectly.

I was just in Mexico the other month and picked up some amazing pieces of Turquoise jewelry.
So next time you head To Mexico don’t forget to pick yourself up some as well!

Just an example of a couple of pieces you could pick up in Mexico.

Turquoise Jewelry matches up nicely with most colours of clothing. Pair with a Yellow or Pink dress or even pair it up with Coral colours. Have fun with your pieces just remember to match not clash.

TOMS

                                                        WE LOVE TOMS

The story behind TOMS- After competing on the second season of the amazing race with his sister In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created the company TOMS Shoes that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers. The TOMS movement is still going strong today, and has no sign of slowing down.
And I can see why, TOMS are my go to shoes. Comfort and style in one, these insoles are like walking on mini memory foam mattresses for your feet. They are perfect for traveling, walking long distances and making a casual outfit look just a little more put together. That is depending on your outfit and chosen shoe pattern of course. And there are many styles to choose from.
I'm obsessed with stripes this summer so I'm in love with my nautical inspired TOMS.

I'm really pleased to see that TOMS have moved their casual day to day shoe into a fashionable comfy wedge, a perfect look to pair with cuffed jeans, shorts, and even summer dresses. And with many styles to choose from it's nice to take the cork sole wedge with the tweed material into your fall wardrobe with you.

And of course we can't forget the men...
TOMS CHAMBRAY BIMINI MEN'S STITCHOUTS

My Guy Lives In These Toms

I was flipping through a magazine the other day and couldn't get over all the celeb kids that are sporting TOMS...for good reason of course. I would think these shoes would be the perfect walking shoe for a toddler from their first few steps onward. The proof is in the shoe these are fashionable shoes for any age.

In Love with this little guy!

Remember when you purchase a pair of TOMS for yourself or a gift for someone else, you are purchasing a pair for someone in need...One For One!

Part 1: Skin Care

                                        PRODUCTS,PRODUCTS,PRODUCTS!

I thought I would share my skin care regime with you guys as I get asked often what I use or what I would recommend for skin care.  It is a process but one I enjoy I like to pamper myself and always make time to take of my skin (Body and Face) remember to exfoliate and moisturize your whole body, your doing yourself big favours.  I am a product junkie.  I splurge on some products-the fine line wrinkle combating ones and save others.  Not all products you use need to break your bank.

> Moisturizer With Retinol

For nighttime, dermatologists recommend a moisturizer with retinol, the gold standard anti aging ingredient. Apply it before bed to reduce fine lines and even out discolouration.

Eliminate puffiness, smooth out crow's-feet, and reduce dark circles with one of these power creams.

Clockwise from top left:

Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Eye Cream ($60; philosophy.com) contains a powerful mix of peptides and retinoids to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles; vitamin C to protect skin from free radicals; and sodium hyaluronate to hydrate.

The combination of glycerin and vitamins B3, B5, and E in Olay Total Effects Line & Dark Circle Minimizing Brush ($19; drugstores) softens delicate skin. Pigments (meant to work with most skin tones) hide undereye circles.

If your skin is oily, try a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly, like Garnier Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Eye Roller ($15; drugstores). Pro-retinol (a mix of retinol and linoleic acid, which is moisturizing and anti-inflammatory) minimizes crow's-feet.

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye ($20; drugstores) contains line-smoothing retinol and hydrating hyaluronic acid. Don't forget to layer on an SPF 30 sunscreen; retinol can make skin more sensitive to UV rays.

Sephora Collection Instant Depuffing Roll-On Gel ($15; sephora.com) is infused with an exotic leaf extract (cyathea cumingil) to temporarily tighten skin; a seed extract moisturizes and plumps fine lines.

 >Salicylic Acid

This feisty little acid is a gold standard for acne control with anti aging benefits.  Salicylic Acid or Beta Hydroxy Acid   (BHA) has been proven to stand up against Alpha Hydroxy Acids (glycolic, lactic, citric, and tartaric acids) when it comes to skin cell turnover and improving skin tone and texture. So it’s not just for combating those pesky facial problems that pop up once a month…With Salicylic Acid you kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

One exfoliating salicylic acid I use that is a $ saver: is St.Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead clearing – Oil Free-2%Salicylic Acid.  I was totally on the fence in trying this product for the first time, I don’t know if it reminded me of being a teenager and it being an all over body exfoliate that would have been to rough for my face that I steered clear from the “Apricot Scrub” But it must have been the new packaging and the fact that this product was strictly for the gentle skin on your face, that I gave in and tried it… And after the first use I was addicted! I use it twice a day and my skin feels amazing after every use.

I first wash my face with my next choice which is again a $ saver and my choice is Aveeno Clear Complexion foaming Cleanser with Salicylic Acid and with Moisture-rich soy extracts I also love this product because it is gentle and great at removing all of my make-up.  In my journey for the perfect face wash I have tried so many other different facial washes and the only other one I love as much as Aveeno is Vichy detoxifying rinse off foam cleanser for combination skin, I really like something that foams and does a good job of removing make-up and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and tight or stripped of moisture, then I exfoliate with the apricot scrub followed up with a toner I go between Vichy or Aveeno and it’s just for moisture balancing after exfoliating and washing.  The exfoliation process is key in removing dead skin cells and helping to combat fine lines and wrinkles.

After washing my face I apply my secret weapons at staving off fine lines and deep wrinkles: Again twice a day I apply this it’s StriVectin-SD eye cream and can be used in the laugh lines as well or anywhere else I feel needs fine line zapping attention. This product I’ve used for 3 years now and I love it! I also use the Garnier Ultra-Lift Anti- Wrinkle Eye Roller with Retinol before applying the StriVectin before bed always letting the Retinol absorb thoroughly before applying the next cream.

Shoppers Drug Mart or Sephora $100

Regardless if you use this particular eye cream product or another product the point is using it! Use any eye cream, I’ve been dabbing eye cream on my eyes since my early 20’s and I believe it’s been the single smartest thing I have done for my skin. Prevention is key, start as early as possible.  Also wearing sunglasses all year long helps as well!

                            Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

I have more combination, sensitive oily skin, which with it being more, oily it’s great for keeping it youthful looking as apposed to being dry and flakey…but also doesn’t mean I don’t get dry flakey spots and if I do I use Vichy Rehydrating Thermal Mask, sometimes as a spot treatment for wherever is needing more moisture also it’s great to slather on as a hydrating mask and letting my skin absorb it, having over moisturized skin is never a bad thing if your using something that’s for sensitive skin and is light weight.  Under my make-up I use Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer for combination skin with Elizabeth Arden Prevage Serum mixed in so I pump both into my hand and blend them together then apply to my face and if needed I dab a tiny bit of the Vichy mask where necessary.  I also apply StriVectin under and around eye’s and finish off with my Primer which at the moment I’m using Laura Mercier Secret Finish for my T-Zone area which again I rub in where needed.

And in the Summer months I change up my facial moisturizer to Avenno Positively Radiant with SPF 15, I know I should wear facial sunscreen in my moisturizer all year round but in the winter months I find this cream too heavy, and I don’t like to change up my routine much and disrupt my skin care regime as I don’t want to test all different kinds of products out on my skin, as I don’t want it to have a reaction and breakout.  I’m sure we all feel the same way we stick with what we know and what works for us, as we know our skin best. But implementing a few of these product's into your daily routine isn't a bad thing either.

SOREL BOOTS

                                                       SOREL BOOTS

Well once again with the Christmas season upon us we make little wish lists of things we would like…One, thing I like to get for Christmas is always a great pair of boots and this year my choice is a nice pair of warm fashionable waterproof/weatherproof SOREL Boots. Of course I love my Hunters that are perfect for these rainy days but having a second pair of go to boots that are a little more, cushy then a pair of $200 rubber boots with not much warmth then it's a pair of Sorel's and no it’s not a pair of Uggs… Which, you all know how I feel about those unsightly things. Sure Uggs are warm but they sure aren’t made for the rain and if you’re from the west coast you are aware of just how much rain we get.  Sorel has been creating footwear since 1962 and their boots have been popping up everywhere over the past year and a bit, every shop you walk by in the Whistler Village, the streets of Robson or the mall everyone is carrying Sorel! And if your thinking of spending sometime up on the ski hills this winter then having a fun fashionable pair of warm weatherproof boots on your feet is key and that would be SOREL!

2011 Fall Fashion Trends

                                                     Fall Fashion

A fun fall photo of me in Prague, what an amazing place to view in the fall time!

Well here it is once again, fall is starting to appear on the heels of one really enjoyable indian summer!

So with that said let’s get into some 2011 fall fashion trends. Since the rain and dark brisk foggy days will be a part of our lives for the next 8 months or so until spring arrives again, lets embrace these months with a good dose of fashion.

It usually is a no brainer when it comes to fall fashion, most of you have your favorites from last season and nothing much usually changes…But of course we all love to hit the shops and pick up new pieces to replace or new pieces to pair with a sweater or coat we fell in love with last season. No one wants to be caught in the same outfit twice of course, so some little tweaks to jazz up an old outfit is always welcome.

Here are 2 key pieces to pair with an old or new cozy sweater for fall!
I love belt's and scarves as well as a nice knitted cap or a news boy cap, for those lazy days you don't want to do your hair, you can throw on a cap and easily enough you will look amazingly put together!

>BELTS

Belts and sweaters are a great way to transition from summer to fall where the day's and evening's aren't as chilly and you can bundle up in a trendy sweater or cardigan belted of course.

Take this bottom sweater for example which I'm in love with but the back is short and the front is longer, this sweater belted would look very trendy for fall 2011.
Braided waist belt BCBG Max Azria $58.00
The sweater is from BGBG Max Azria $248.00

This is another great belt to pair with a sweater and the price tag is well worth the purchase!
Leatherette belt w/pouch
Forever21
$10.80

 >SCARVES

Scarves paired with a bulky cozy belted sweater is a fall fashion forward statement.
Double looping scarves are a fun new way of making an outfit your own.

I Love Scarves!

Everyone has their own taste in what scarf they would choose to wear and no one style is wrong...Ok some are of course but to each their own.

And last but not least pairing your sweater/belt and scarf with a great pair of riding pants/leggings.

J Brand Stallion Jodhpurs with zipper ankles
Theses pants start at $220
Shop around there are many replica styles of these pants.
Riding style pants are a great way of staying fashionable and comfortable pair with ballet flats or ankle boots for day and a great pair of heels for night!

Enjoy Shopping and putting pieces together... fall is all about layering and making your style trendy comfortable and your own!
